We would like to share the news about our first AGM happening on 19th November!
We’ve now completed a big piece of work connected to securing registration with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) – the regulator for social care organisations – and we’re currently awaiting written confirmation that we have been successful in achieving registered status. This has been a huge amount of work, and thanks go to our staff team as well as to all board members for their commitment and hard work, giving us the best possible chance for a successful outcome to this critical milestone in our journey.
We originally hoped that our AGM will happen in October but this had to be shifted because of the registration work and we now we hope that many members will be able to join us on 19th November.
Given the current restrictions we will be holding the meeting online using Zoom. We’ll send further details of the AGM to our members, including an agenda, and how to participate, in the coming days.
Nominations for the Board of Directors
We are now accepting nominations for candidates to stand for election to our Board.
We are keen to encourage members of the society to consider serving as a board member. It’s a great opportunity to get closely involved as we launch the service and develop the organisation into a sustainable operation over the coming months. We’re particularly keen to receive nominations from people with a health/social care background, and also looking to strengthen our business and organisational skills across the board. Nominations from people from the black and minority ethnic community are very welcome.
As an organisation that is regulated by the CQC it is important that we have a robust process in place to assess whether candidates are “fit and proper” persons to serve as board members. There’s more information on this in the Board Handbook that we’re developing. If you would like to submit a nomination, please download and complete this application form.
It is important to mention that only members of the society can take part in this process – if you are interested in becoming part of Co-operative Care Colne Valley and have not become our member through the community share offer, you can apply to be a member using this form.
All applications should be submitted no later than October 25th to the Secretary of CCCV via email: secretary@valleycare.coop.
Please get in touch if you have questions or would like an informal discussion prior to submitting an application.
We’ll then run an online election process enabling all members to vote, and the results will be announced at the AGM on November 19th.
We are looking forward to meeting many of our members at the meeting! Thank you!
