A big welcome and thank-you to all of our new investor members.
We are proud to be able to announce that with your help our Community Share Offer has been a great success. We have reached our target and now have the start-up capital we need to launch our innovative new Care Co-op! We were particularly pleased that the vast majority of investors were local people, who despite these hard times, clearly saw the benefits for themselves and our community.
We are a democratic member-led organisation and we would encourage everyone to actively help shape the future progress of the project. There will be many opportunities to get involved:
- Taking decisions at members’ meetings
- Becoming a Community Co-operative Volunteer to help our service user members to access the kind of things that make life worth living
- Getting involved in one of our specialist Working Groups that will help shape and take forward the service
- Considering standing for the Board of Directors
To find out more please come along to our first informal Members’ Meeting (we’ve sent an invitation via email to everyone) where you can hear brief reports from current Board members on where we are at now and intend to go in the future. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and share your thoughts.
This will be held virtually due to the Covid 19 restrictions at 7pm Thursday 20th August
If you can’t make the meeting, but would like more information or to register your interest in getting more actively involved please email Graham Mitchell (secretary@valleycare.coop).
You don’t have to be an investor to become a member of the Society. We are going to be launching a big membership drive this autumn to encourage many more local people to get involved.
Exciting times ahead!
