We are keen that the people who use the services provided by Cooperative Care Colne Valley – and their close family members – are actively involved in shaping the organisation and how it works for them. Giving service users a real stake in the ownership of the organisation, alongside the people who deliver those services, and the members of our community that have come together to fund and support the organisation, creates a powerful platform that we can use together to achieve our shared mission.
If you are a user of our services, or a close family member of a service user, you can become a member and co-owner of Colne Valley Equitable Care Society Limited – the Community Benefit Society that trades as Cooperative Care Colne Valley.
You can apply here using this simple form, or by talking to the office team. In technical terms you are purchasing a single £1 share in the society. The £1 fee will be added to your next invoice. This gives you one vote, just as every other member has one vote. You can't sell the share to someone else, and it won't appreciate in value, but you can – if you choose to do so – hand it back to the society and get your £1 back, at which point you'll no longer be a member.
